I can explain it. This game was created as a final project for my training and in my country (Belgium), our keyboards have a layer in AZERTY. But don't worry, we fix that very soon !

On some keyboards Y input is the Z input which would be closer to S and D. But it still wouldn't be that practical I don't think.
Yeah, making a game and using a movement scheme that the vast, vast, vast majority of the world doesn't use... oof.
